hallo,

Jane Coppin (°1991) grew up in Bekegem, a small village in West Flanders where the horizon seemed to extend no further than the most distant trees and farmhouses. This left a lasting mark on her work, which often explores themes of space, boundaries, and movement. She began her studies in Antwerp in the Printmaking department and graduated with a Master's degree in Fine Arts in 2014.

Coppin's visual language—particularly in her print-based work—is direct and straightforward. She works across printmaking, installation, and film. Her artistic practice is closely influenced by her salaried employment. For many years she worked as a postal worker and is currently employed as a taxi driver and print-making teacher. These roles bring her into contact with a wide range of people and provide her with a broad perspective. The logistical systems that underpin our society—an often invisible network that keeps things functioning—play an important role in her practice.
